The Rights of People with Disabilities Clinic

The Clinic for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in society and works to realize their rights across various life domains, with a primary focus on higher education, employment, and housing.

The Clinic’s work is diverse, encompassing the provision of pro-bono legal counsel and representation to individual clients and civil society organizations operating in the disability sector, as well as the advancement of broad policy and the raising of awareness regarding the rights of people with disabilities. To this end, the Clinic drafts reports and position papers, formulates legislative proposals, organizes conferences and discussions, and participates in Knesset committees, among other activities.

The lessons in the Clinic deal with the laws and legal doctrines pertaining to people with disabilities in Israel, critical disability theories from the fields of philosophy and disability studies, the accessibility of the justice system for people with disabilities, and social lawyering as a tool for advancing the rights of people with disabilities. These lessons are delivered by both the Clinic's instructors and a variety of guest lecturers, ranging from academic researchers to social activists with extensive experience in the field.
